My first journal paper!

My paper about 'Music emotion regression' submitted to TASLP (IEEE Trans. Audio, Speech and Lauguage Processing) sp. MIR last December has been accepted with minor revision!! This is my first first-author journal paper!

This story tells us hard work can pay, and 'revision can improve paper greatly', see the comments from two reviewers:

[reviewer 1]
I can see the authors took a lot of efforts on the revision. The paper is greatly improved and now in a better form.

[reviewer 2]
The revisions made to this paper have greatly improved it, answering many of the questions that I had about its results.
Overall, with the improvements already made to the experiments and to the paper, these few additional changes should make it publishable.

Congr.!

(HCM'07) Music emotion recognition: The role of individuality

My paper for HCM'07 (in conjunction with ACMMM'07, Germany) has been accepted!
http://staff.science.uva.nl/~nicu/HCM2007/
The paper title is "Music emotion recognition: The role of individuality".

Comments:
The paper presents a systematic approach to individual and group
difference issues relevant to the design of music genre/emotion
classification research.
It is certainly interesting to consider these kinds of issues with
regards to musical affect classification and the authors are to be
admired for their attempt to deal, in a methodical fashion, with a very
complex and difficult to define problem.
